Project Details
The project, following the requirements of the livestock industry and the needs of consumers, represents a new approach that aims to improve the life of animals during breeding and the quality of final products through the use of phytobiotics derived from plants and herbs of the Cretan land in animal feed. The implementation of the project will solve the problem of antimicrobial resistance that is responsible for the extensive use of antibiotics and hormones in animals, while also proposing environmentally friendly procedures and techniques for the extraction and inclusion of bioactive compounds and the development of final products, contributing to animal capital development and meeting growing demand.
In addition, the project will use cutting-edge web development technologies applications, machine learning and data analysis techniques aiming both at improving state of the art methodologies but also the acquisition of new knowledge. As part of the project, sensors will be developed, that will collect data on real-time and will give important clues to the effect of new animal feed and for the adaptation of the appropriate mixture.
Finally, the analysis of the life cycle in all processes and products, will lead to the identification and examination of environmental problems and in their optimization processes in order to minimize environmental impact at a reasonable cost. The implementation of the plan will create new business opportunities for participants companies and will offer benefits to both stakeholders scientists, but also in society.
